Thierry Henry Unveiled As Coach Of Ligue 1 Giants Monaco

Former France international striker Thierry Henry has been appointed as the new coach of French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco.

Henry replaced Portuguese Leonardo Jardim who was sacked less than six months after leading Monaco to second place in the league standings following their first league title since 2000.

Henry recently vacated his assistant coaching position at Belgium, who finished third at this year’s FIFA World Cup in Russia after losing to France in the semifinals.

The 41-year-old started his glittering playing career with Monaco before turning out for the likes of Arsenal in England and Spanish giants Barcelona.

He starts his tenure with a trip to RC Strasbourg on Saturday as Ligue 1 resumes following the international break, and faces a big task to revive the club that was once French champions and Champions League semifinalists in 2017.
