Outspoken NPP MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has denied accusations thrown at him by the the Editor of the Al Hajj Newspaper, Alhaji Bature,that the MP took a bribe of $40,000 from Cocoa Board.
Speaking on Badwam, Alhaji Bature accused the maverick MP of taking bribe from cocoa board even though he claims to be incorruptible.
Kennedy Agyapong explained that, he was offered a contract to supply cocoa by the Cocoa Board but he declined because the money involved was not big enough, he informed one his party member who was interested and therefore won the contract.
According to Mr Agyapong, the party memeber whose name he would not mention made a profit of $120,000 and gave him the $40,000 as a gift.
I initially refused to accept the money but the party member advised it could be put to use in my constituency which i agreed and therefore took the money”, he said.
