Khuli Chana’s Picking Up The Pieces documentary, which showcases his mammoth David and Goliath battle against the South African Police Services (SAPS), finally premiered on the small screen on Sunday evening. And if social media reactions are anything to go by, fans not only enjoyed every single bit of it, but they were also left hugely ‘inspired’.
The documentary, produced by Asanda Maku, divulges elaborate details about Khuli’s 2013 ordeal – when he was shot at by police officials using an automatic rifle in a case of mistaken identity.
The rapper, who eventually reached a financial settlement with the SAPS at the Johannesburg High Court after two years, also gives viewers an insight into how his life had changed since the wrongful shooting incident.
After being shown on SABC 1 last night, the factual film garnered major praise from throngs of engrossed fans, who labelled it “chilling” and an “eye-opener”.
